Revealed last month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the all-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta has changed the face of the popular sedan. As the seventh generation, this vehicle has utilized the award-winning MQB platform, redefining its proportions and offering a more modern design.
“The Jetta is such an iconic product,” says Klaus Bischoff, Head of Volkswagen Design. “We wanted to come up with something totally new. It was essential to give this product more prestige, more sportiness, and totally new proportion.”
For the 2019 model year, the Jetta has gained a new body shape, which means it has a longer wheelbase, a wider track, and bigger wheels. These larger proportions have translated to more interior space, meaning passengers can be more comfortable, even in the back seat.
The front-end design emphasizes its horizontal lines, while also creating a singular unit of the radiator grille and the standard LED headlights. These horizontal lines continue into the body where the silhouette is marked by a long, extended side window and a coupe-like style, reinforced by an offset roofline.
Inside, the cabin looks entirely new with a driver-oriented center console and trapezoidal design elements that mirror those of the exterior. These elements add a touch of sportiness, while also providing a premium feel thanks to the high-end materials.
The Jetta is one of Sierra Volkswagen’s and the brand’s best-selling models; visit our showroom to see why the Jetta is so popular.
