Head to Wicker Park and Bucktown on Sept. 26 to taste samples of food from several delicious local restaurants. It’s the perfect outing for a pair of foodies or people new to the area.

 

Basement of the Dead Haunted House

On weekends from Sept. 29 through Nov. 4, this Aurora-based haunted house will be spooking kids of all ages in the festive spirit of Halloween. Oh yeah and it’s ranked the #1 Haunted House in the world by Buzzfeed.

 

Apple Festival

Get your fill of all things apple, from cider and caramel apples to apple pie at the 30th Annual Apple Fest at Lincoln Ave. between Lawrence and Eastwood. The event takes place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

 

Bonnie & Clyde Musical

Hear the classic story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow when you see the Bonnie & Clyde Musical at Theater Wit. The show runs from Sept. 14–Oct. 15.

 

Oktoberfest

 Sept. 29–Oct. 1 is the weekend of Oktoberfests. Whether you attend the St. Alphonsus Oktoberfest, the Neighborhood Oktoberfest at St. Benedict’s Courtyard, or the Oktoberfest at Lynfred Winery, you’ll find plenty of craft beer, live music, delicious food, and German culture.
